Automod handles message-level protection such as spam, unwanted links, bad words, NSFW content, caps abuse, mass mentions, emoji and attachment spam, long messages, newline spam, and repeated cross-channel content. Configure it gradually and pair it with logging so staff can review false positives.

Commands

Available modules

The setup panel currently exposes these modules: The bad-word and NSFW modules also synchronize Discord AutoMod rules when the bot has Manage Server. The built-in bad-word list is multilingual; use the setup panel’s custom-list option when the server needs its own vocabulary.
1

Start in a test channel

Use a private staff channel or a small test server to validate the behavior.
2

Enable one layer at a time

Record which filters are active and what they should do when they match.
3

Review exceptions

Add only the channels, users, or roles that genuinely need an exception.
4

Monitor logs

Watch the logging channel for false positives after enabling automod.
If a filter is too aggressive, pause automod with /automod disable, adjust the configuration, and test again instead of adding broad allowlist entries.
