AI tools - Hedwig

Hedwig includes AI-powered tools for questions, reasoning, image text extraction, speech, and recent-message summaries. These tools are optional provider-backed features; a working bot connection does not guarantee that every AI provider is available.

Commands

`/ai tts`	Convert text into speech audio
`/recap`	Summarize recent messages in a channel

/ai ocr accepts common image formats including PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP. /recap uses recent messages from a channel, so tell members when a recap is being generated and avoid using it as a substitute for reading a sensitive conversation.

Use AI responsibly

Do not paste passwords, private tokens, personal records, or sensitive support conversations.
Treat generated answers as suggestions, not authoritative moderation or legal decisions.
Tell members when a channel recap or generated response is being used.
Review OCR output before acting on it; images can be ambiguous.

AI commands depend on external providers configured by the bot operator. If one fails while /ping works, check provider availability and try again later. Do not add a provider key to a command argument or a public channel.
